Review of Warm Bodies (2013) by Gareth J — 23 Apr 2015
As the poster suggests, this movie is pretty much "Twilight" meets "Shaun of The Dead".
The biggest credits, obviously, go to Nicholas Holt whose Gerard Way lookalike, the unimaginatively named R, plays his role as the rebel without a pulse with all the arduous gusto one would expect from someone cast as a shambling corporeal shell. In all honesty, the high-profile cast all live up to their respective expectations but Hoult feels the most at ease. Whether playing the new kid at school, a Darwinian mutant or a Ghoul among zombies, Hoult has been playing the outcast since he was old enough to recite lines, so it stands to reason that he of all people would make this role look easy.
In short order, a fun film but nothing to lose sleep over.
