Review of Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price (2005) by Jonathan A — 12 Dec 2010
Moderately engaging expose on the effects of Wal-Mart upon the US economy. Yes, it has been established for years that Wal-Mart is a mean, rotten, nasty company who doesn't have the best interest in it's employees and clients.
So my biggest criticism with this film has to do with the deceptively narrow scope in that we don't actually get much of an insight into the bigger picture, although the audience is constantly referred to it (let's give the film a little break though, since it's at least five years old).
Nevertheless, it deals with the employee and small business effects marvelously, and pretty much told me what I knew and expected. Perhaps a dated perspective on first glance, but still pretty valid.
