If you couldn't get it, don't feel bad, you are not alone - the world have a lot of dull people like you. Maybe you should try "Idiocracy (2006)". Waking Life is the state of art movie on philosophical contemporaneous themes.
If you can really think that are waked, so you are dreaming - but if you have the knowledge about the dreaming you are on, it is probably because in some way you are waking up to the waking life.
