It's heavy handed and it will require multiple viewings to really grasp the core of Linklater's work, but Waking Life's concept and execution are absolutely brilliant, showcasing yet again that cinema isn't what it must be.
.. it can be whatever the filmmaker dreams. And it will find its audience.
