Review of Wake in Fright (1971) by Y'ng Y — 10 Sep 2009
There is a nightmarish quality to this film, the loud violent unfettered behavior of the people and even the sunlight is horrifyingly blinding. a harsh environment which is at odds with the soft-spoken teacher character who cannot seem to escape the horrors and civilization to him seems to drift further and further away just like his sanity.
