Review of Wake in Fright (1971) by Ângelo D — 08 Nov 2014
Wake in fright is a great window into the human mind, John Grant starts out as a skeptic, looking with disdain at everything and everybody in the small town. The machoness, drunkeness and lack of restrain of the people make him feel uncomfortable, until he himself gets absorbed into their world.
Now begins a trip of self destruction and violence, something he had never imagined for himself. At the end all the smugness is gone and what remains is a changed man.
