Review of W. (2008) by Hannah H — 23 Nov 2009
Regardless of your opinion of Barack Obama's predecessor, W. is an interesting way of introducing the Dubya chronicles. First and foremost, I am not a fan of George W. Bush, I think he was a terrible president, and a complete oaf.
But even I gotta say, this was just WAY too blown out of proportion. The characters were in no way realistic, they were more like caricatures. However, this does not shock me in the least bit, because it's Oliver Stone, and he always pulls this crap.
He goes for over-the-top and controversial, and boy did he make it there. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that George W. Bush is not a man of intelligence... but COME ON, seriously, Oliver Stone? You portrayed him to be so stupid, that if I were to meet someone like that I would probably assume they were mentally retarded.
I'm glad we can agree that he's an idiot, but making it a little more realistic would have been preferred.
