Review of W. (2008) by Brad W — 27 Jan 2015
It's done well but I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish with this film.
Most of it is about the relationship between George and his father. Most of the time it portrays the president like a buffoon. And while this most certainly isn't accurate, I will say this is probably the most human president on film I've seen next to Frost/Nikon. But this film primarily shows all of his mistakes and completely glosses over the good he has done.
The acting and makeup is solid, but sometimes it comes off as comedic. Jeffrey Wright shines as Colin Powell.
Would have been better as a documentary.
