Review of W. (2008) by Brett S — 03 May 2010
W. was an absolute disappointment. Stone was so afraid to present a bias that he tried to make a nonpolitical film about politics. The outcome was a bland, odd failure of a film. It left me scratching my head, wondering what was the point. It clearly wasn't meant to be editorial. It wasn't biographical. As much as I wished it was, it wasn't a comedy, (aside from the horrible portrayal of Condeleeza Rice).
I will say that Josh Brolin does a fantastic job as Dubya. However, even with its great acting, the film totally failed to keep my interest. With having such great material to work with, there's really no excuse for that.
