Review of W. (2008) by Jeff M — 04 Jan 2012
I would've liked to give this movie more stars b/c of Brolin's acting and the all-star cast surrounding him, but in good conscience couldn't, due to the fact that it was a completely one dimensional portrayal of Bush.
Oliver Stone is like the Michael Moore of dramatic cinema. He seems to broad stroke his subjects in order to push a view across, as opposed to giving the audience a fair, well-reasoned portrayal of complex individuals.
It was a one note movie for me. But if you like cartoons that poke fun of country bumpkins and enjoy political satires, this might just be your cup of tea. Don't expect to see a reinactment of history though.
