Review of W. (2008) by Ben T — 02 Feb 2012
A film that will prove its relevance in the years to come, "W" may be simplistic in its analysis of our worst president's psyche, but that is the only area you'll find in Stone's biography that isn't meticulous in its execution.
Brolin is tremendous, as is the rest of the cast (besides an odd Thandie Newton as Condoleeza Rice). Stone cleverly wraps our minds around the idea of sympathizing with an idiot (Dubya, of course) and then slaps us across the face for it.
Anyone who says Stone let George off the hook has sadly missed the point.
