Review of W. (2008) by Andy S — 06 Apr 2012
I was suprised that Stone presented GW in such a sympathetic light. Its definately not a hatchett job by any means. Brolin turns in a fantastic performance and really nails all of W.'s mannerisms and speech.
The film derails when it stops being a bipoic and jams all the Iraq screw-ups down our throats in such a pat way that DID NOT occur in real life. It becomes silly when you realize this is just Stone and the writers trying to cover all their "points" about how and why the iraq war was a huge mistake.
Overall it is still an interesting effort.
