Review of Voices of a Distant Star (2002) by Emily S — 16 Feb 2009
Somehow, communication technology lags behind propulsion technology such that it takes longer and longer for 15 yo Mikako's love letters to reach 24 yo Noburo. If you can suspend your disbelief and forgive the well-worn Manga style imagery, this film's main draw is that it was completed primarily by one person and a Macintosh over the course of about 7 months.
It's pretty short too; the bonus features run longer than the film's 25 minutes.
