Review of Voices of a Distant Star (2002) by Nick M — 18 Jun 2008
Voices of a Distant Star (Hoshi no Koe) is a brilliant and beautiful OVA. For it's short length of 30 minutes, it weaves a wonderfully lovely story of a long distance love.
Animation in the OVA is not the most amazing you'll find around, however it does its job and tells the story; sometimes the simplicity of it is what conveys the feeling the best.
The soundtrack for the movie is also lovely. The main theme song, "Through the Years and Far Away" is a beautiful song befitting of the story.
Overall, this OVA is a masterpiece, comparable to Hayao Miyazaki's masterpieces. I would recommend this to everyone, even if you are or aren't an anime lover.
