Review of Visioneers (2008) by Louis E — 23 Jul 2009
A hilariously oddball dystopic satire that creates a wonderfully absurd universe more daring than most dare to venture nowadays. In some ways it can be compared to Gilliam's "Brazil" or a later Luis Bunuel film, but this one still has a mood all its own.
The entire venture sometimes makes you wonder if it's worth the journey as it does tend to drag its feet in certain areas, but Zach Galifianakis' deadpan performance rings true with the story, making this odd morality tale one worth engaging with.
