Review of Vision Quest (1985) by Eric S — 13 Oct 2009
Cerebral high school wrestler Matthew Modine wants to make the most of his time before graduating. For him that means dropping several weight classes to challenge the most fearsome wrestler in the state.
It also means he has to deal with grown up desires, commitment to his goals and other typical high school senior issues. It's a great 'wrestling' movie but it also has a lot of clever dialog and well done scenes.
Many people would probably like it most because of the soundtrack - Red Ryder, Madonna, Journey and others are featured in a classic mid-80s compilation.
