Powerful. Repulsive. Sad. Is there no good in humankind? She tried. What else can she do? Viridiana is so well meaning, doing the right thing--and what becomes of it? She finds little different between the uncle that repulses her and the homeless she serves.
Powerful stuff. If that's not convoluted enough, just watch the movie.
