Review of Video Games: The Movie (2014) by Harley M — 27 Sep 2015
This is not good. "History?" No. Most people who'd be interested to watch this (predominantly gamers) would already know the extremely pedestrian history given here. It's like American History with 3 chapters from Washington until Bush Jr, and then two more about the 2000's.
You're better off watching the old "Icons" series from G4--or the magnificent "The Video Game Years" on Retroware TV on YouTube now. This is embarrassing. It's rushed and rudimentary, and it's largely uninteresting to the audience it targets.
And it advances to modern gaming WAY too quickly. The last two generations of gaming are more present than history. We don't need to hear about modern gaming. So much more to say about the past. This was like a rushed high school book report done by some kid who had no real interest in the topic at hand.
Embarrassing.
