Review of Victor Frankenstein (2015) by Chris F — 31 Mar 2016
Victor Frankenstein is in no way a good film. Still, I did enjoy it. It is the pure definition of dumb fun. James McAvoy shines as the title character. He plays this role with a Nic Cage-type of lunacy that I loved.
Daniel Radcliffe, with the more subdued role of Igor, was also very good. If these two weren't in this movie, I would've hated it. The script is very generic. There isn't anything imaginative in the film.
If you know Frankenstein, you know what'll happen in the film. The CGI was ok in the film. It wasn't amazing, but it was serviceable. This movie not going for any awards attention. The film isn't really that well filmed.
Still, this is a fun, but not spectacular film. Lower your expectations, and you will enjoy this.
