What a mess. I feel like I've watched my first "made for Twitter" movie. Christian Bale does a great job as Cheney, but the film itself is a disappointing caricature feels confused and incomplete.
Feels like a wasted opportunity to explore the fascinating character of Cheney, the Bush White House and the Iraq war and global war on terror. Instead we get a flurry of non sequiturs that avoid any depth or detail, and the weird focus-group scene after the credits begin just seems to reduce the entire thing to partisan mud slinging.
Kind of wobbles between being a biography and a documentary and kind of fails at both. Disappointing.
