A sublime performance from Christian Bale, and some powerful and indeed funny scenes elevate this film. However it also feels disjointed at times, and like some biopics do drifts from moment to moment rather than having a coherent story.
It also feels like the movie is a bit try hard. Nevertheless Bale is worthy enough of giving this a watch.
