Astonishing, terrifying and eyeopening. Vice is an incredibly entertaining movie to watch, but also reveals the true darkness that most citizens don't know about. So Dick Cheney. We get a look at how this man worked himself up the ladder of bureaucracy and became one of the most influencial shadow figures of the 21st century. What we find is a (typical) republican capitalist who is in love with the idea of the Unitary Executive Theory. The President cannot commit any illegal acts, so any thing the President does is deemed legal. A terrifing misuse of power.

We see the backstory of Dick Cheney, his roadblocks and decisions. We see him implement them by using his shadow power to lie to world about the collaboration between Zaqawi with Al-Quada to justify an invasion of Irak, thus creating the future IS. All to get oil as Harlington would increase in value by 500% following these events. Corruption.

In some very smart bits we see more aspects of the Republican party, such as the lack of ideology but a hunger for power, the unrealistic expectation of unsustainable growth and the willingness to lie and deceit for it to the bone. We see some of the long term problems like the pushback against firearms control, sustainable energy and the increase of military suicide.

The actors: Very well done by everyone. Christian Bale takes the spot as Dick Cheney, supported by Amy Adams and Steve Carrel.

An astonishing movie in my opinion. I give it a 10/10. I can recommend this movie for anyone who likes movies like 'The Big Short' that reveal a story behind world events.
