I agree with James Berardinelli of ReelViews in that this movie feels pointless because it simply rehashes events that have long been a matter of public record. I was a young adult in the early 2000s but I already knew about almost everything that Vice depicts way before watching it.
I did not know about Dick Cheney's earlier political career, but those parts were also quite boring and pointless. Perhaps Vice is a good film for people who were too young to be aware of U.S. and world events in the early 2000s.
I would give Vice a 6.5 but, since the acting is quite good, I'll round it up to a 7.
