If you're looking to have an Appleseed Ex Machina fix, this is where you go get it. I actually like the plot for this movie compared to Appleseed (less holes), but it's pretty much your typical save-the-world gig.
Yes, I know it's anime and the girls can be as perfect as they come, but I'd have to say, both Vexille and that other chick (forgot her name :P) were rendered quite prettily in their cel-shaded glory.
Oh, and at least there aren't any tux-wearing robot/cyborg characters around :P.
The final 'run' was as intense as any movie I've seen, had me at the 1/3 edge of my seat :).
It's worth your 2 hours, that much I can say :).
