Review of Vertigo (1958) by Josh G — 29 May 2012
A masterpiece of filmmaking that makes me realize how ridiculous it is that Alfred Hitchcock never won a competitive Oscar for best director. The stylish camerawork isn't spurious, as it effectively places us into Scotty's psyche and makes us experience his insanity as Kim Novak's character fuels his obsession.
The plot is too complex to explain and its twists and turns shouldn't be spoiled.
