What the heck was Nicholas Cage thinking!?! That phony voice!?! Was the director so intimidated by Cage's fame that he actually agreed to Nic's interpretation or did he sincerely believe in Cage's "vision"? It's impossible to tell, but that voice was so dissident, I had a hard time hearing anything else.
Cage is an Oscar-winning Best Actor; he is supposed to be above this kind of self indulgence. Very disappointed in him as well as the movie in general. Definitely not worth the price of admission. But worth watching for free if only to see Cage's outlandish performance.
