Review of Vampire's Kiss (1989) by Liam C — 31 Mar 2013
This film is insane. Not only is it a disheartening story of someone going slowly insane and no one cares to help him, it's actually a comedy which is also insane but it features Nicolas Cage in one of his most unhinged roles to date.
Many tout his performance as over the top. However, with a character that's going insane who's to judge what's over the top and what's not? The story, as a whole, goes nowhere; it just shows Peter's decent into madness and how it increases everyday.
The way it develops is quite believable and the whole, is he or isn't he a vampire is played out quite well, also. To be honest, it's a good film. Sometimes you despise Peter and yet you wish someone would just put him out of his misery.
