Review of Valkyrie (2008) by Andy D — 22 Jul 2011
A very solid telling of the failed military coup during World War II, when Nazi officers themselves conspired to assasinate Hitler, in order to save Europe and their own country. Ultimately it raises questions about the conflict between military duty and our underlying humanity.
Bryan Singer directs, and keeps the suspense going well until the very end. The performances are all also very solid, however, the movie as a whole just didn't quite grab me.
