Well if you don't know that Valerian and Laureline is based on a French comics created in 1970, you probably won't hook on this film as people who have read it. It likes if you were going to see a Marvel movie without knowing that the characters are based on a comics; you might enjoy your experience but maybe not as well as a true Marvel fan.
