Review of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) by John L — 16 Nov 2018
This film is visually splendid, but little else. The performances are okay (at least, DeHaan is okay, the rest are pretty choppy). The direction is missing, and the writing is convoluted - disappointing considering the potential for this film to be great.
This would've been a far-better Netflix show, given better writing and a more-suited cast. A poor science-fiction film, sadly.
