Dane DeHaan looks a bit out of place as the lead in this space adventure that bursts with interesting ideas but goes a bit into all directions. Special agents Valerian and Laureline lack a real compelling motivation to do what they are doing and some of the scenes come across as if they were just put into the movie because they look cool.
