I can see much of the criticisms that it's too long or that it meanders, and that some of the humor doesn't stick it's landings and it's ambitious to a fault maybe. However, there is much to like about it also.
Yes, its flawed, but in an endearing kinda way. Some of the humor is LOL funny, actually IMHO, and there are cool little cameos here and there. I see that it bombed badly it's opening weekend, but I saw that coming.
Big sci-fi that's not part of a recognizable franchise seem to always do. It has cult following written all over it. I do encourage people to see it on the big screen. It deserves better than what it's getting.
