Review of Vacancy (2007) by Charley C — 07 Dec 2012
How can you escape...if they can see everything?
David & Amy, a couple with problems break down in an unknown place out in the wilderness. They stay at a suspicious motel and their night leads an unexpected turn.
Draws inspiration from Identity, 1408, Hostel and even the classic Psycho.
Luke Wilson plays David. A likeable, ordinary guy and a loving husband. He's always got a sensitive cute voice in his roles.
Kate Beckinsale plays Amy, the wife who's upset with a loss. Shes convincing and dramatic and shows a genuine fear.
Has some brilliant noises and sounds, really sets the tempo and mood. There's a sense of tense dread as the film really starts to pick up the pace.
Wasn't a film with a bad outcome just the end was a bit flat and sudden, after such a climactic showdown.
