Review of V/H/S/2 (2013) by Spencer K — 08 Aug 2013

V/H/S 2 is a bit of an improvement over the first, yet it still is very uneven and doesn't really know what it is. It sets up exactly the same way as the first, people break into a house and find a bunch of v/h/s tapes and they need to watch all of them somehow to eventually get what they came there for.

It's set up well and it's executed great. The directing is just like the first, too. Every short is filmed on a handheld camera in someway by the people in the shorts. And, it is very creepy. I thought the 1st and 2nd shorts were very well made and they were very scary, too.

The eye thing was very smart and something very different and original. I also really liked the biker one where he gets turned *spoiler maybe?* into a zombie and crashes that birthday party. That one was very good.

The third one was just weird. It was probably the worst one. It was just not very scary and not very good. It was just full of blood and hire and ended with a disappointing payoff. It all looked fake and was very unscary.

The final short was the best of all of them. It was scary throughout and it was my favorite one. It had to do with aliens, and it was set up very well and it was very, very well made as genuinely scary throughout the whole short.

It was the best one and my favorite one. V/H/S 2 was better than the first, it was made very well, and all of the shorts, with the exception if just one were all very good. Anthology horror films, can be easily messed up and suck bad (see ABC'S Of Death) or very good, like this one.

Defineltey recommended for horror fans, and gorehounds, because there is plenty of excessive violence, blood and gore, but it's used well. V/H/S 2 is a well made, scary horror anthology worth the watch.
