Review of Up the River (1930) by Daniel K — 07 Apr 2008
It's a historically important movie in that it contains Humphrey Bogart's film debut, and Spencer Tracy's first real starring role (and it's the only time they worked together, although they were good friends).
But the movie itself is pretty fun on its own--it's not in great shape, and there are some silly aspects to it (a prison warden letting his little girl fraternize with convicts, for instance), but it's still a fun movie.
