Review of Stakeout (1987) by Deanomite — 24 Jan 2020
John Badham did very well with WarGames and Saturday Night Fever, both pretty much either created a genre or defined it. This buddy cop movie came out same year as Lethal Weapon, the biggest buddy cop movie ever.
The music is generic synthesizer, not unusual or memorable. Early scenes are so corny they damage the movie. The buddy chemistry also very corny. It plays like a knock off of a spoof.
