Review of Unthinkable (2007) by Supi G — 02 Jul 2011
Okay, so it starts out brilliantly and carries on being a nail-biting experience only to deflate any hopes of being a good film in the last 5 minutes of it. Michael Sheen does a fantastic job as an American Muslim terrorist who's planted bombs in three major cities of the US.
He is tortured by an 'expert' called H, played by Samuel L. Jackson, who does not stop at anything to get the information out of him. He even does the 'unthinkable'. FBI Agent Brody, played by Carrie-Anne Moss is a complete wuss because she believes it's better to save one man's life in the face of many, just because she can't handle the torture.
She slowly wisens up but watching her is a gruelling experience because you just want to shake her up and come to terms with the fact that terrorists will stop at nothing. The film is a good ride, but the almost moronic ending takes away all the 'goodness' out of it.
Great for the torture scenes though!
