Review of Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2010) by Matthew L — 11 Apr 2010
Whilst this is an improvement over Universal Soldier 2 and I may be looking at this through rose tinted glasses its still not a patch on the original. If anything its another year another Van Damme film shot in Eastern Europe.
Van Damme is given little to do, other than punch or be punched or throw or be thrown threw walls. Lundgren whilst nice to see him in another Uni Sol film is kinda wasted and for no reason at all goes from 'obedient soldier' to 'superior killing' killing machine in the space of two scenes.
As for Arlovski its quite clear that he's a UFC fighter as he's given nothing to do other than punch people in the face. Yet again the trend for unwanted sequels shows no sign of stopping.
