Review of Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010) by James C — 23 Nov 2010
A very peaceful film. So peaceful I fell asleep.
But yet so very interesting. The ghostly apparition of Boonme's deceased wife appears as if from nowhere, and my obliviousness to her arrival made her sudden presence overwhelming. Then there are the monkey ghosts. And the insight into a peculiar and gentle Buddhist process of death. Value for money.
