Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives is an intriguing film that deals with a fascinating subject matter, but it unfortunately never delves deeper into its interesting themes and just decides to stick with the scenery as its sole focus.
And yes, that scenery is nice to look at, but the film abandons plot and character development in the process and it has an overly leisurely pace which are all the reasons why it is a very disappointing movie.
