Usually when a movie is critically received I can see what people saw in it, even if I didn't particularly like it. This film however, I did not. It did not move me, I did not find it beautiful or thought provoking or think it presented interesting ideas about death.
I liked the monkey ghosts, but other than that I found it very, very boring. I'm actually having trouble thinking of a movie that was more difficult for me to sit through. Clearly people like this and are taking meaningful things away from it, which is great, but to me this felt like it was a week long and I was happy when it was over.
