The eye-slitting scene at the beginning at the beginning is astounding to see even now. It occurs so concisely that the image sticks through the short 16 minute run time. The scene is followed by various surrealist sequences and although they don't amount to anything resembling story Un Chien Andalou is an intruiging piece of film history.
