Review of Un Chien Andalou (1929) by Tim S — 03 Jun 2015
Un Chien Andalou is an early collaboration between Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí (the latter of which wasn't happy with the film upon seeing it). It's an art piece about the lives of two lovers and is a mere 16 minutes in length.
It contains some of the most memorably odd, disturbing, and beautiful imagery that still manages to get under the skin of people even to this day. It's for a selective audience, to be sure, but it's still appreciated by cinema devotees everywhere.
