Review of Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie (2010) by J R — 27 Mar 2018
With Abnett on hand it was absurd that this was 5th company, with fresh recruits. Novices fresh from 10th company should be Devastator assistants and gophers in Aquilla armor. 5 company is a battle company, even if it is at the border between Battle and Reserve companies.
It was a ludicrous setup, 9 novices, 1 sergeant, a company commander (Captain) and an Apothecary, with no rhino support, or even a Dreadnaught all on their lonesome on the company commander's battle barge.
Where the hell were the other 50 Tactical, 20 Assault and 20 Devastator brothers? Where the hell was their chaplain? Why the hell was the CAPTAIN not decked out with more than what looked like a Fangmaw pattern Chainsword, and a bolt pistol and wearing basic Aquilla armor? Hell why didn't his Iron Halo provide him a forcefield? Saying something is an alternate reality is one thing, it's another to pretty much ignore the internet, and the collective information about the Ultramarines available, literally, within 2 seconds of a google search.
The only good part of this film was the cast.
