It may not rank among the best films of Oliver Stone, still Stone directs a terrific ensemble cast to produce a black comedy with a lurid, surrealistic atmosphere that doesn't seem so strange as most other films of the genre. The film is stylish, well shot and features terrific performances from Sean Penn and Billy Bob Thornton. The film has occasional sparks of fun and a few good twists.
