Review of Two-Lane Blacktop (1971) by Richard N — 09 Jan 2008
Strange and mesmerizing mini-plot road movie - and it's hard to explain why it works so damned well. Maybe it's the undeniable skill of the cast and crew (director Hellman does an ace job), maybe it's the early 70s vibe, maybe it's the roaring cars.
.. anyway, how can you not enjoy a movie that opens with three minutes of hardly anything but engine sounds?
