Review of Two-Lane Blacktop (1971) by Andy H — 24 Jan 2008
Possibly the best road movie of all time. James Taylor, Dennis Wilson and Laurie bird had almost no acting experience when they made this film but they donâ??t let Warren Oates steal the show. Perfectly paced and introspective; comparisons with easy rider can not be helped.
The photography is stunningly bleak with lots of car interiors at night. Pay special attention to the 55 Chevy, three of them where used to shoot the film and one of them was later driven by Harrison Ford in American Graffiti.
