Review of Two-Lane Blacktop (1971) by Kathryn N — 22 Aug 2008
This is a film to be praised...especially for its simple cinema verite style and perfect capturing of the late 60's/early 70s America. Who knew James Taylor was such a wonderful actor! Warren Oates gives an enigmatic and poignant performance.
The acting here perfectly captures the silences that exist in human communication. Overshadowed by its more popular predecessor EASY RIDER (1969) it may actually be the overall better film. Not to be missed by independent film afficionados!
