Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney are completely engrossing to watch. Their marriage both disintegrates and blossoms onscreen with humor, bitterness and experimental abandon. Donen was clearly influenced by Godard and the French New Wave.
Fresh, funny and tragic, all at once.
