Review of Twisted (2004) by James S — 21 Sep 2008
Good enough crime thriller that packs in enough cheesy lines but is intriguing enough to keep you guessing to the end, even if the final reveal is a little weak.
Ashley Judd is not entirely convincing as the nympho alcoholic super cop but she is pleasant enough. Samuel L Jackson is the same as he is in every movie and Andy Garcia is a little bland but the story saves this thriller as it does twists and turn and leaves an elaborate trace of clues for you to follow.
This is pure pulp film making, the equivalent of a trashy airport novel by some non descript Author who knocked it up in a week, but what it lacks in great scripting and sophistication it makes up for in plot, drive and intrigue.
